The Research Center in Science and Technology for the Conservation of the Historic-Architectural Heritage (CISTeC), established as an Interdepartmental Center with Rectoral Decree 1229 dated 24.11.94 and confirmed with Rectoral Decree n.4108 2019 of 20.12.2019, is a Center interdepartmental approved as a research centre.
The Center pursues the aim of promoting and strengthening, through interdisciplinary integration or the best use of resources, the research possibilities within the competence of the Departments referred to in the following article, thereby facilitating access to funding sources that take advantage of the contribution and integration in the areas highlighted below:
Analysis of degradation mechanisms, study and design of protective systems and materials;
Study methods on the functionality of materials and structures and on the seismic vulnerability of monumental assets and historical-architectural heritage;
Assessment of the state of conservation and consequent restoration and structural consolidation interventions.
The Center aims to promote scientific and technical research for the knowledge, conservation and enhancement of the historical-architectural heritage, with particular reference to materials, structures and the environment.
